A FIELD in Kampung Ampar Tenang in Dengkil, Selangor, belonging to a property developer, will be surrendered to Sepang Municipal Council (MPSepang).

The field is wanted by a school for its activities.

In an email to StarMetro on Aug 2, the developer’s spokesperson said, “The property developer will surrender the field to MPSepang.

“The field will then be managed by the council for the public, including the school’s use.”

The field is located next to SJK (T) Ladang Ampar Tenang, which was relocated from Ladang Ampar Tenang to its present site over a decade ago.

The school’s Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) had appealed to the developer for the field.

StarMetro in a July 30 report highlighted the contention between MPSepang and the school as to each other’s entitlement.

PTA chairman Datuk V. Gunalan said requests had been made to the developer to allocate at least 2.4ha of land – including the field – to the school but it received only 1.25ha.

Gunalan said MPSepang had called for a meeting with the developer’s representatives to discuss the issue on March 31.

“All parties gave their views at the meeting but no decision was made.

“However, it was decided that more meetings would be held, but the PTA did not receive any invitation.

“So, I was surprised to receive a letter from MPSepang Town Planning Department director Rozeta Md Yusuf on July 26 saying that MPSepang had agreed to the property developer surrendering the 0.4ha field to the council,” he said.

He opined that the landowner (developer), and not the local council, should issue a letter to the PTA.

Gunalan added that he had written to the Prime Minister’s Office on Feb 6, seeking Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob’s assistance in the matter.
