KLANG residents who want to get fit and healthy are encouraged to join Klang Municipal Council’s (MPK) “Jom Sihat” wellness programme at Stadium Sultan Suleiman in the Selangor town.

On Wednesdays from 5pm to 7pm, council president Noraini Roslan and about 50 employees gather at the venue for an aerobics session and hand exercises.

Noraini said the programme encouraged people to step outdoors and sweat it out.

“Our event has been running for several weeks and the results are exceptional.

“It has helped boost our mental alertness and deepen our connection with the environment,” she added.

Over the weeks, more Klang folk have been joining the council members and Noraini sees this as a positive sign.

The council president said MPK was constructing walking paths along Jalan Raya Barat to the town area.

“We want to encourage more people to walk and leave their cars behind,” she said.
