SOME 40 Putrajaya Corporation (PjC) employees helped to clean up the homes of flood victims in Baling, Kedah.

The flood on July 4 submerged many villages and caused the death of three people.

PjC president Datuk Fadlun Mak Ujud said the team was sent on July 8 after Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim called agencies to help in flood relief.

“The team cleaned houses in Kampung Iboi and Kampung Sadik in Kupang, with various tools, including 13 water jets, six water pumps and 11 trucks,” he said.

PjC subsidiaries, credit control and revenue division director Aminudin Abdul Hamid, who was part of the team, said clearing the mud, debris and logs was backbreaking work.

“Nevertheless, it was a fulfilling experience to be able to help the flood victims,” he said.
