THE ambulance operator who was ordered six weeks ago to move their business out of an intermediate terrace house in Ara Idaman, Ara Damansara has shifted out.
Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) Corporate Communications assistant director Ahmad Iskandar Mohamad Mukhtar told StarMetro that the ambulance operator, who did not have the approval to run a business from the house, had moved out all four ambulances.

“Our council’s technical department had a meeting with the ambulance operator to discuss the issue. In the discussion, the operator was told to cease all operations and activities in the residential area. MBPJ has settled the matter in an amicable manner,” he added.
Ahmad Iskandar advised all business owners and operators of premises in Petaling Jaya to at all times adhere to the council’s by-laws and get the necessary prior approvals for building plans or to operate a business with MBPJ.
“Before businesses alter the structure or change the activities at a building, do verify with MBPJ to avoid inconveniences,” he said.
On May 26, MBPJ issued a notice to the ambulance operator and owner of the residential unit to cease all operations and the notice was issued under Section 70 of the Street, Drainage and Buildings

Operating from the terrace house were four ambulances that at times, parked in a haphazard manner close to the road median, making it difficult for immediate neighbours to drive in or out of their houses.
