Fundraiser to provide Internet access in classrooms

Parent Teachers Association of SMK La Salle and Olak to hold a breakfast charity sale on August 27

IN AN effort to provide high-speed Internet service in every classroom, SMK La Salle Klang Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) will hold a breakfast fundraising event.

PTA chairman K. Jayandra said the availability of high-speed Internet was crucial to transform the teaching and learning process.

“Our PTA has collaborated with the Old La Sallian Association of Klang (Olak) to hold a Breakfast Back @ School 2022 fundraiser,” he said.

Jayandra, 54, from the batch of 1985, said the proceeds from the event would go towards providing high-speed Internet and purchasing 35 projectors to use in the classrooms.

“We want teachers to be able to teach with ease in the classroom instead of having to go to the computer room for every lesson.

“The projectors will make it easy to present online materials,” he added.

SMK LA Salle has more than 600 students taught by 46 teachers.

According to Jayandra, the funds raised will also be used to provide academic coaching for SPM students and improve sport facilities at the school.

The breakfast fundraiser will be held at 8.30am on Aug 27 at Dataran Cassian, SMK La Salle, Klang.

Tickets will be sold at RM30 per person.

“Our hope is to see many fellow Klangites, especially former students, turning up to support us,” he said.

For details, the public can call Jayandra at 012-389 2930 or Ho King Min at 012-325 9188.
