Ipoh Lads hockey carnival is back after a two-year break due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Organised by Ipoh Lads Hockey Club, the 11th event will be held on July 2 at the Sultan Azlan Shah Stadium in Ipoh, Perak.

Ipoh Lads president Malvinderjit Singh Randhawa said the upcoming carnival would be on a bigger scale.

“This year’s event will be bigger compared to the past years as there will be 35 teams participating in all three categories.

“The categories are Open, Veteran (aged 45-49) and Veteran (aged 50 and above), and the participating teams are from all over Malaysia and Singapore,” he said.

Malvinderjit Singh said besides promoting a healthy lifestyle, the carnival was held yearly to raise funds for the club’s activities.

He said Ipoh Lads was one of the most active clubs in the state, regularly organising as well as taking part in many sports, charity and development activities.

“The club committee would like to thank Ipoh City Council and Perak Hockey Association for their support towards the carnival’s success,” he added.
