A VANDAL has tried to disrupt the use of an escalator at the Sri Rampai LRT station, just five days after it was repaired.

In a post on the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) official Facebook page on Monday (June 20) morning, a person in an all-black outfit with white shoes can be seen pressing the emergency stop button on the escalator, which caused a disruption at the station.

“We are not sure about the person's intention - presumed to be a teenager - but this is considered an act of vandalism” said DBKL.

DBKL added that the emergency stop button should only be used during critical moments, and misuse of the button could damage the escalator and cause inconvenience to LRT passengers in the area.

On June 16, it was reported that DBKL had recently appointed Bossque Skyline Sdn Bhd to carry out replacement and maintenance work on the escalator.
