IN THE spirit of Ramadan and Hari Raya Aidilfitri, IOI Properties Group (IOIPG) organised a month-long series of group-wide corporate social responsibility activities to spread festive joy among the underprivileged communities.

The elderly residents of Pusat Jagaan Al-Fikrah, Kajang, will have joyful memories of this year’s Raya celebration thanks to the group which carried out a thorough clean-up of the old folk home to usher in a festive atmosphere.

The residents received donations consisting of food items as well as daily essentials which were contributed by Team IOI.

Apart from Al-Fikrah, orphanages and welfare homes located in Puchong, Selangor; Segamat, Kulai and Kempas in Johor, as well as in Penang were also presented donations of food items, daily essentials and even household appliances.

IOI Properties group general manager Kristine Ng said: “IOIPG firmly believes in fostering closer communal ties through initiatives to enhance the well-being of local communities in which we operate.

“This is aimed at achieving the group’s Sustainability Goal of Developing Sustainable Communities.”

The team’s visit to Rumah Amal Limpahan Kasih in Kampung Seri Aman, Puchong, saw celebrity chef Naem preparing rice, ayam masak kicap, fried fish and vegetables, on behalf of Le Meridien Putrajaya.

To seal the true spirit of Raya, the work continued all the way in Johor and Penang, as the business units of IOI Properties visited children at Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim Islam Daerah Segamat Johor and families at Sri Merpati low-cost flats.

This collective effort was organised by the IOI team which included employees from the headquarters and business units such as IOI Malls, as well as participating hotels such as Putrajaya Marriott Hotel, Le Meridien Putrajaya, Four Points by Sheraton, Puchong, among others.
