CARLSBERG Malaysia has launched a non-alcoholic variant under its Somersby line which promises to be a refreshingly different thirst quencher.
Somersby Apple 0.0 – created using premium non-alcoholic fermented apple juice – packs a lot of flavour with sparkling sweetness for an easy drinking experience.
This latest addition maintains the brand’s essence as a sparkling fruit beverage and the end result is akin to cider mixed with spritzer.
Somersby Apple 0.0 is classified under the soft drink category as it does not contain any alcohol-based liquid and is easily distinguished by a blue hue on its packaging, signifying its alcohol- free content.
Best served over ice, the beverage has a distinct aroma of sweet apples while its flavour is well-balanced between fruity sweetness and sour notes.
Speaking at the launch at Popsicola KL in Jalan Ilmu, Kuala Lumpur, Carlsberg Malaysia managing director Stefano Clini said the company remained committed to health awareness and offering consumers choices.
“Somersby Apple 0.0 offers a refreshing taste and the same premium quality of Somersby Apple.
“It complements all types of drinking occasions and suits all lifestyles as it is non-alcoholic,” said Clini.
He added that the popularity of alcohol-free beverages and increasing consumer interest in wellness made it the perfect time to build on Somersby’s growth.
“Choosing Somersby as the brand for our first foray into the non-alcoholic beverage category adds extra punch to our portfolio of brands.

The pool party launch depicted the creative nature of the brand with games and music keeping guests entertained.
They also had a sparkling time sampling mocktails and slushies concocted with the new Somersby Apple 0.0.
Somersby Apple 0.0 is now available in single 320ml cans, four-can packs and cartons at stores nationwide.
Until the end of June, consumers who purchase any two four-can packs of Somersby Apple 0.0 can redeem an exclusive Somersby 0.0 Slushy Maker.
There will also be opportunities for consumers to sample the latest Somersby addition at selected outlets.
