Unwrapping delightful savoury and sweet dumplings

IN celebrating the Dragon Boat Festival, Shang Palace at Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur is presenting this year’s rice dumplings in a luxurious custom-designed box ideal for gifting.

The six flavours of singular rice dumplings are Pad Kra Pao Mou, Yunnan Mushroom, Sweetened Purple Rice with Vanilla Custard, White Lotus and Truffle Honey, Fujian and XO Sauce, as well as Foie Gras and Roasted Chicken.

The rice dumplings are available for mix and match of four and packaged individually in a Shang Palace gift box.

The Pad Kra Pao Mou, Yunnan Mushroom Rice and Sweetened Purple Rice with Vanilla Custard dumplings are priced at RM36 per piece.

The Fujian dumpling is priced at RM70 while the XO Sauce and Foie Grass and Roasted Chicken dumplings are priced at RM79 per piece.

The Shang Palace Signature gift set is sold at RM128 per box.

The Master Chef Series gift set, which is RM410, includes four flavours of rice dumplings with premium fillings each with a nett weight of 90g.

The set has Black Truffle and Premium Wagyu Beef Striploin, Aged Mandarin and Abalone, Abalone and Sea Cucumber, as well as French Riz Au Lait rice dumplings.

Led by executive sous chef Chew Tai Beh, the culinary team has also created a Pinata-inspired dumpling with 100% handcrafted rich bittersweet Belgian Chocolate, filled with M&Ms, jelly beans and decadent chocolate pralines.

This dumpling gift set comes with a wooden hammer priced at RM180.
