MBPJ: Faulty toilets fixed at Bandar Sri Damansara market

Flashback to StarMetro's report on March 30.

WASHROOMS at Pasar PJKita@Sri Damansara have been repaired.

Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) said the faulty pipes were repaired soon after StarMetro highlighted the matter in its report, “Faulty toilets and pipes at newly opened market” on March 30.

The washrooms are functioning properly now, said a city council spokesperson.

Shortcomings at the RM5.9mil wet market in Bandar Sri Damansara, Petaling Jaya, were highlighted by MBPJ councillor Suriase Gengiah.

“We now have a modern wet market.

“But the amenities need to be repaired in a new market.

“The toilet for the disabled and the women’s toilets are faulty. This is not acceptable,” he was quoted as saying.

The market was launched in March by Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.

Pasar PJKita@Sri Damansara has 48 wet and dry lots, 18 food stalls and nine multipurpose stalls.

The council is waiving the first three months’ rent, from April to June, for traders.
