SHOPPERS flocking to Sunway Carnival Mall in Seberang Jaya, Penang, will feel like they have been transported to a traditional Malay village surrounded by hibiscus and greenery with stars glittering above.

Apart from the beautiful decor at the concourse, the mall’s Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration themed ‘‘Riuh Ria Raya” will feature exclusive redemptions, graffiti art, Raya bazaar offering home-grown brands, exciting workshops and more until May 8.

During the launch, Sunway Carnival Mall general manager Chai Wen Yew said he was glad the mall could hold a proper Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration again after a two-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“To further enhance the festive mood, we have transformed our concourse into a vibrant ‘kampung’ adorned with batif motifs.

“Shoppers will also be greeted by lovely artwork of flowers in full bloom, signifying a fresh start for all of us.

“This masterpiece was painted by graffiti artist Abdulrashade and his team.

“Don’t forget to visit the 20 stalls at our Fama Agrocraft Bazaar Aidilfitri on the upper ground floor where you can enjoy attractive bargains.

“Also be sure to register for our interactive workshops on weekends.

“Parents and their little ones will have plenty of fun decorating Raya cookies as well as learning to make 3D jelly and Raya gift cards,” said Chai.

“The economy is bouncing back to normalcy but let us remain vigilant as we return to everyday activities.

“We hope that our shoppers will take this opportunity to create memorable moments at the mall.”

Chai also announced the mall was eagerly anticipating the opening of its new wing.
