Butchers association calls for controlled pricing system

The Butchers Association of Selangor and Kuala Lumpur has filed a complaint with Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry as well as Agriculture and Food Industries Ministry on the hike in the price of pork in recent weeks, saying that there is no proper price control system in place.

Association chairman Lee Teng Hock said the price of pork saw a drastic rise between Jan 10 and Feb 28, increasing from RM760 for 100kg to RM1,060.
