Starting next month, 12 Career and Technical and Vocal Education and Training (TVET) carnivals will be held in stages in Perak to help provide jobs for the people.
State education, higher education and human resources committee chairman Ahmad Saidi Mohamad Said said the carnivals were planned with the cooperation of various companies and agencies to reduce the unemployment rate by providing jobs to those eligible.
“This is part of our efforts to assist jobseekers, especially graduates and those with lower qualifications, such as SPM.
“There are companies that will conduct walk-in interviews.
“Those who are successful will be given offer letters on the spot,” he said at the opening of “Karnival Kerjaya & TVET” in Bukit Gantang.
The event was launched by Kuala Sepetang assemblyman Mohd Kamaruddin Abu Bakar.
At the event, 2,000 job vacancies were available for people from the Larut, Matang and Selama districts. It was participated by 16 companies via the Pusat Aspirasi Anak Perak (Pasak) initiative.
