AS the Year of Tiger rolls in soon to the welcoming arms of the Chinese community this festive season in Penang, so will loads of hampers and gifts come to revellers.

This will inevitably create a surge in the amount of waste brought about by the packaging and decoration of hampers, warns Penang environment commitee chairman Phee Boon Poh.
