IOI Properties Group Bhd (IOIPG) has launched KITACycle, a recyclables collection centre, at IOI Mall Puchong in Selangor.

IOIPG chief executive officer Datuk Voon Tin Yow, in his speech at the opening ceremony, said IOIPG was guided by its vision to prioritise the environment and build sustainable communities.

“KITACycle is in line with our vision and missions.

“Therefore, we work with our business partners to encourage recycling within the mall and we continuously educate our community on waste segregation, further diverting waste from landfill and preventing pollution of our oceans,” said Voon.

Present at the event were Selangor local government and public transport committee chairman Ng Sze Han, Subang Jaya mayor Noraini Roslan, top IOIPG management including executive director Lee Yoke Har, chief operating officer (property development – central region) Teh Chin Guan, senior general manager (mall operations) Chris Chong, group corporate communication and sustainability general manager Kristine Ng and IOI Mall Puchong general manager Dylan Chan.

Chan said: “KITACycle aims to encourage recycling among the more than 250 tenants in IOI Mall Puchong while reaching out to the Puchong community to raise awareness on the benefits of recycling and ways to reduce carbon footprint.”

The community can drop off their recyclables at KITACycle, which is strategically located on the ground floor near Carnival Court, for a convenient drive-through or drop-off.

The centre can be easily accessed from the open-air carpark via the west entrance.

KITACycle’s weigh-and-pay system offers cash for recyclables with the aim of encouraging the Puchong community to segregate their waste, recycle and ultimately lead a sustainable lifestyle.
