Selangor assembly observes moment of silence to mourn passing of former rep Ramli Norani


THE Selangor state assembly observed a minute of silence on Monday (Dec 6) to mourn the passing of former assemblyman Datuk Ramli Norani due to Covid-19.

Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the former Sungai Besar assemblyman passed away on Sunday (Dec 5) at the age of 70.

“He served as assemblyman from April 1995 until November 1999. He passed away due to complications from Covid-19,” he said during the state assembly sitting at Bangunan Dewan Negeri Selangor in Shah Alam in the morning.

Ramli was also Sungai Besar Umno deputy chief as well as president of the Federation of Malay Hawkers and Petty Traders Malaysia Association.
