MBPJ to repair damaged path at sports complex field

StarMetro’s earlier report on the issue.

PETALING Jaya City Council (MBPJ) has issued a directive to its Landscape Department to get the damaged walkway at the Astaka Sports Complex field repaired.

In reply to StarMetro’s report on the issue recently, MBPJ said in a statement that a small part of the pedestrian walkway was damaged by a fallen tree.

The city council said repair works on the walkway including tree clearing work would start soon.

Residents said the huge tree fell during a thunderstorm in June and has not been cleared.

StarMetro highlighted the issue after residents complained of the damaged walkway.

Broken brick tiles were reported to be strewn around while a big slab of cement blocked the walking path.

They said this was dangerous as the spot was sunken and people could easily lose their footing, especially senior citizens who exercised there regularly.

MBPJ had paved the walkway earlier this year.
