‘Stop releasing turtles and fish in the lily pond’

Fish and turtles that used to inhabit the lily pond at the gardens and harmed the water lilies before the gardeners cleared up the pond for another attempt at growing the lilies.

AFTER all the water lilies in the lily pond of Penang Botanic Gardens died, the gardeners will try once again to bring them back, but they need the help of Penangites.

“Please stop releasing fish and turtles into the lily pond. They will kill the lilies,” said gardener Jaafar Mahari, 47.
