Dec 31 deadline for businesses to renew licence, permit

Noorazam asks reflexology and spa businesses to submit necessary forms before applying to renew their licence.

BUSINESS operators within Johor Baru City Council (MBJB) can start renewing and make payment for their business permits and licences for next year.

Mayor Datuk Noorazam Osman said renewals could be done over the counter at the council’s headquarters at Jalan Dato Onn or online until Dec 31.

“Renewals will be approved on the spot by our licensing unit.

“Businesses with designated parking spots in front of their premises can also pay for the parking fees at the same time.

“As for those involved in high-risk activities such as traditional massage, reflexology and spa, they are encouraged to submit the necessary forms and documents for our review before renewing their licences,” he said during the MBJB full board meeting.

Licences that were not renewed during the time frame given would automatically be cancelled by the city council, he added.

Noorazam also said that the business licence exemption for accommodation providers, hotels and tourism agencies was subject to the state government’s executive council meeting’s decision.

Those who prefer to renew their licences online can do so via http://johor.ekhidmat.my/ ekhidmat/

Alternatively, those who wish to do so over the counter can make an appointment first via https://apl.mbjb.gov.my/temujanji/ — By YEE XIANG YUN
