Groceries provided to Hulu Selangor folk

HULU Selangor District Council (MDHS) and Segi Value Holdings Sdn Bhd launched their “Jom Kongsi Rezeki” food bank programme under its private strategic cooperation initiative.

The corporate social responsibility programme is a tie-up aimed at easing the burden of the community affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, specifically in Hulu Selangor.

The ceremony was held at Segi Fresh Supermarket in Kuala Kubu Baru.Present were MDHS president Mohd Hasry Nor Mohd, Segi Value Holdings senior general manager Fong Leong and Orang Besar Daerah Hulu Selangor Datuk Raja Muzaffar Raja Redzwa.

A total of 113 recipients of various races received food bags consisting of wet and dry items including onions, potatoes, vegetables, yellow noodles, rice noodles, peanuts, brown sugar, apples and oranges.

Segi Value Holdings also agreed to provide 489 bags of food to families living near Batang Kali Segi Fresh Supermarket and Bukit Sentosa Segi Fresh Supermarket.

The programme aims to achieve the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals 1 and 2 in line with MDHS’ commitment to implement them.
