STEPPING up to help government hospitals battle with Covid-19, Penang Crisis Relief Squad of MCA (CRSM) has equipped them with vital equipment and more.

To help the six government hospitals in Penang that are Covid-19 hospitals, CRSM has gone above and beyond by giving them each RM4,000 worth of medical and sanitising supplies.

It was a collaborative effort by Penang CRSM and MCA Youth, which launched a campaign to collect medical supplies.

Penang CRSM leader Edmond Mah and other state MCA representatives came together to present the aid to Penang Hospital, Balik Pulau Hospital, Seberang Jaya Hospital, Bukit Mertajam Hospital, Kepala Batas Hospital and Sungai Bakap Hospital.

Mah said each hospital received three boxes of face masks, a box of personal protective equipment, 10 boxes of chocolates, two nano sanitising spray guns, three hand wash containers (20L each), four sanitiser containers (20L each) and five sanitiser containers (5L each).

“Our CRSM headquarters stay in touch with hospitals treating Covid-19 patients all over Malaysia.

“We have been collecting medical supplies through our GoCare crowdfunding initiative.

“It has been well-received and we received constant support from the public,” he said.

Mah said families dealing with financial difficulties can contact CRSM via their Facebook account and the team would respond with ration supplies.

“We will continue to collect funding under CRSM and GoCare in every state.

“We urge those who can extend their help to visit our websites and contribute,” he said.

GoCare Donation Crowd Funding is an initiative by CRSM to help underprivileged individuals and groups through charity fundraising from the public.
