TWELVE Lions Club in Sibu, Bintangor and Sarikei in Sarawak have donated necessities to help Sibu Hospital in the fight against Covid-19.

The clubs involved are Dudong, Mandarin, Sungai Merah, Berjaya, Queensway, Jaya, Bawang Assan, Host, Seduan, Sibu City — all of which are in Sibu — as well as one each from Bintangor and Sarikei.

First vice-district governor of District 308-A2, Kapitan Connie Loh, along with organising chairman Karen Cho and a few other Lions Club leaders handed over the items to hospital director Dr Nanthakumar Thirunavukkarasu.

The items donated were tape, plastic containers, walkie talkies and plastic rolls costing about RM3,000.Loh said she received a call from the hospital requesting those items that were needed urgently.

“I asked each club to contribute.

“I am glad they responded promptly,” she added.

Loh hoped that people would continue to adhere to the standard operating procedures as this would help reduce Covid-19 infections in Sibu. — By ANDY CHUA
