Spend at petrol station for chance to win RM1mil in cash, points

Khalil says Petronas Dagangan is always on the lookout for new partnerships to enhance its offerings and reward customers.

PETRONAS Dagangan Bhd (PDB) has launched the Mesra-Visa Kasih Bonanza campaign in partnership with global payments technology company Visa, to offer prizes worth RM1mil in cash and Mesra points to over 1,000 lucky winners.

Every month from Sept 1 to Jan 31, 2022, two grand-prize winners will each take home RM50,000 in cash, while 60 first-prize winners will win RM1,000 in cash.

On top of cash prizes, 200 monthly winners will be rewarded with 20,000 Mesra points worth RM200.

To participate, customers need to spend a minimum of RM40 at any Petronas station or Kedai Mesra in a single receipt and in three separate transactions within the same month to be in the running for the first and monthly prizes; or spend a cumulative of RM300 within the same month for a chance to win the grand prize.

Customers who use their Visa credit/debit cards or the Setel app can gain 2X entries; or 4X entries if they transact using Visa credit/debit cards via CardTerus on the Setel app.

PDB retail business head Khalil Muri said, “We are always on the lookout for new partnerships to enhance our offerings and reward our customers.

“Our collaboration with Visa this year enables us to run the campaign over five months and offer meaningful prizes to more monthly winners, aside from the prizes in the grand and first prize categories.

“We look forward to continuously bring joy to our customers during these trying times.”

PDB is also introducing two other rewards for this year’s campaign — an exclusive prize of additional RM500 in cash will be given to frontliners battling Covid-19 when they win in any of the categories.

In support of the national vaccination programme, customers who upload a screenshot of their vaccination appointment or digital certificate will receive a bonus of 4X entries or 8X entries if they have added a Visa credit/debit card to their Setel account for the first and monthly prize categories.

Visa country manager (Malaysia) Ng Kong Boon said, “We are extremely pleased to work with our valued partner, PDB, to run the Mesra-Visa Kasih Bonanza campaign for the first time.

“We continuously work with partners to introduce relevant rewards and benefits to our cardholders whenever they use their Visa cards.

“Launching this campaign during the Covid period is meaningful as it enables our cardholders, including frontliners helping to fight the pandemic, win cash prizes when they spend at Petronas stations, while promoting the use of digital payments in the country.”

PDB also encourages its customers to download and use the Setel app, as it is a safer payment method that minimises physical contact and at the same time increases their chances of winning when they take part in the campaign.

The app also allows them to easily donate to PDB’s Food Bank Programme to lend a helping hand to those struggling during this challenging time.
