Gyms reminded not to place equipment outdoors

Radhakrishnan hopes the government will reopen gyms and fitness facilities.

National Sports & Fitness Venue Owners and Operators Association (NSFVOOA) is urging gyms to abide by established parameters and adhere to local government rules and regulations. Its president Datuk V. Radha Krishnan said it was taking this position in response to reports and social media posts of gym operators placing equipment outdoors as current safety standard operating procedures (SOP) allowed for some outdoor activities.

“We do not condone these actions as taking their trade outdoors not only poses safety hazards to users and shortens the operating lifespan of cardio equipment, it may also be flouting local council guidelines.”
