MEDICAL personnel are appreciated for their long working hours and relentless efforts at the forefront of the battle against Covid-19.In acknowledging their sacrifices and to honour them, Domino’s Pizza and Sime Darby Motors joined forces for an initiative aptly called “Love Our Frontliners”.

The partnership will see a contribution of 4,200 pizzas, prepared by Domino’s Pizza and delivered by Sime Darby Motors.

It kicked off with the first order of 400 Domino’s pizzas for frontliners working at Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) quarantine and treatment centre.

However, it was not the usual pizza delivery and was instead transported and delivered by vehicles from Sime Darby Motors.

The pizza deliveries would continue over a period of two weeks with the aim of uplifting the spirits of frontliners who had endured so much during this time, said Domino’s Pizza Malaysia chief executive officer Shamsul Amree.

“We are grateful to all our frontliners as they stand fearless to save lives and show courage to deal with everyday events and tragedies.

“They truly are our heroes. We cannot imagine our life without their sacrifices and contributions.

“We have heard and read stories of their tragedies and triumphs in this fight,” he added.

Shamsul said that from strict hygiene measures to safe food preparation and packaging, those at Domino’s would stand by the frontliners to keep the community safe.

Meanwhile, Sime Darby Motors Retail & Distribution (Malaysia) managing director Jeffrey Gan said the pandemic had demonstrated the commitment and dedication of medical frontliners.

He said the company was pleased to offer chauffeur-driven rides to selected frontliners.

“They can enjoy a safe journey to visit and reunite with their loved ones whom they have not seen for a long period of time.

“We are also honoured to take care of our frontliners’ grocery trips in our specially commissioned vehicles,” Gan added.

The collaboration also saw pizzas being delivered to several Covid-19-designated hospitals within the Klang Valley.

Among them were Hospital Sungai Buloh, Hospital Selayang, Hospital Serdang, Hospital Kajang, Hospital Kuala Lumpur, Hospital Ampang, Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz UKM, Universiti Malaya Medical Centre, MSU Medical Centre and Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah.
