Subang Jaya records 4.2% increase in parking offences in first eight months

PETALING JAYA: Police have issued over 15,100 summonses for parking offences in Subang Jaya from January until Aug 22 this year, a 4.2% increase compared to the same period in 2020.

Subang Jaya police in a statement on its official Facebook page on Monday (Aug 23), said offences ranged from illegal parking by roadsides, fire hydrants and areas designated as no-parking zones as well as double-parking.

"There is an increase of 616 more summonses issued for the period of January until Aug 22, compared to 14,485 issued for the same period last year.

"These statistics show the negative attitude of some motorists who are selfish by parking their vehicle in areas where they are not supposed to," it said.

Subang police also advised motorists to avoid parking in areas that were not allowed to prevent congestion.

"This is also to avoid them from being issued a summon by the police or the local authority," it added.
