Duke and Ekovest employees receiving their Covid-19 vaccination at the Segambut Toll Plaza Rest and Service Area vaccination centre.
OVER 80% of staff at Konsortium Lebuhraya Utara Timur (KL) Sdn Bhd (Kesturi), the concessionaire of Duta-Ulu Kelang Expressway (Duke), and property developer Ekovest Bhd have completed their Covid-19 vaccination at the Segambut Toll Plaza Rest and Service Area (RSA).
The programme, which ends tomorrow, is part of the MYMedic@Wilayah Vaccination Truck initiative by the Federal Territories Ministry.
The mobile vaccination trucks were supplied by Optimax Holdings Bhd under Perfect Health Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of the Health Ministry.
Kesturi and Ekovest Bhd managing director Tan Sri Lim Keng Cheng said Duke had offered its Segambut toll plaza premises for free in order to speed up the inoculation of Kuala Lumpur residents, starting with Duke and Ekovest employees.
“Duke Segambut Toll Plaza RSA is now serving as a vaccination centre that can inoculate more than 1,000 people a day.
“The proactive measure is to achieve herd immunity in the shortest period of time.
“We are encouraged by the active participation of Duke and Ekovest employees in the vaccination programme.
To date, more than 80% of our staff have completed their second dose at our facility.
“By ensuring the majority of our employees are vaccinated as soon as possible, we will be able to resume operations at our highway, as well as our construction sites, at an optimum level,” Lim added.
Since its opening as a vaccination facility on June 12, Segambut Toll Plaza RSA has also been used by Gamuda Bhd to inoculate its workers for the MRT project.
Contractors and consultants of Ekovest Bhd, as well as teachers and employees of Chong Hwa Independent High School, Jalan Ipoh have also been assigned to receive their Covid-19 doses at the facility.
