Vaccination centre for retail workers in Putrajaya

A SHOPPING centre has collaborated with Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry in setting up the Retail Industry Vaccination Programme in Putrajaya.

The effort by IOI City Mall, in association with Malaysia Shopping Malls Association, kicked off at the industrial vaccination centre — IOI City Tower 1, IOI Resort City — on Monday.

The programme will end on Sept 5.

The centre can accommodate up to 1,000 vaccine recipients daily.

The project was set up to support the government’s initiative to accelerate the vaccination process among retail sector workers in achieving 80% herd immunity.

They include promoters, cashiers, salespeople, petrol station workers, restaurant, supermarket and department store workers as well as barbers, beauticians, shopping complex management and distribution chain employees.

As one of the major contributors to the economy, the retail sector is an important segment in the National Recovery Plan.

The initiative will help provide a safe shopping experience for all.
