Mass tests show low positive rate


Jagdeep looking on as a man is given a swab test for Covid-19 during mass testing held at Flat Hamna in Batu Uban, Penang.

LESS than 0.5% of Penangites who volunteered for the Covid-19 mass testing under the Penang Saringan Covid-19 (PSC-19) were found positive.

State local government committee chairman Jagdeep Singh Deo said out of 4,718 participants as of Sunday, only 23 of them were found to be Covid-19 positive after confirmation through their subsequent polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests.
