Spike in prices of greens caused by Camerons EMCO

Phua says day-to-day prices of vegetables sold at markets are largely determined by supply and weather.

CONSUMERS in Johor are forking out extra to buy vegetables supplied by farms in Cameron Highlands following the implementation of the enhanced movement control order in several areas there last month.

Vegetable seller Phua Ming Hui said prior to the restrictions, the price of tomatoes was RM4 per kg but it had risen to RM6.30.

He said cucumbers from the highlands were now selling for RM7 per kg, up from RM5.60 per kg in early June.
