HEALTH Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba received RM180,000 worth of medical equipment contributed by Econsave Cash and Carry Sdn Bhd for use by Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (HTAR) in Klang, Selangor.
The medical equipment comprised a ventilator, two humidifiers with integrated flow generator, 10 advanced syringe infusion pumps, 20 dining tables for patients as well as 20,000 face masks.
Also present during the handover at the hospital’s auditorium were Health Ministry secretary-general Datuk Mohd Shafiq Abdullah, deputy director-general of health (medical) Datuk Dr Norhizan Ismail, Selangor Health Department director Datuk Dr Sha’ari Ngadiman and HTAR director Dr Zulkarnain Mohd Rawi.
Econsave Cash and Carry Sdn Bhd executive director Lai Sak Coon said the contribution was part of the company’s corporate social responsibility initiative to assist the country in facing Covid-19 challenges.
Lai added that Econsave had carried out many charitable initiatives, especially in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.
To date, the company had contributed food and vegetables to over 25,000 families, especially those in the B40 group.
Dr Adham recorded his appreciation to Econsave for its contribution, which would benefit Covid-19 patients at HTAR.
