Home delivery for deserving Sibu recipients

Delivery riders have been engaged to distribute food under the Sarawakku Sayang Special Assistance (BKSS) 3.0 scheme.

The deliveries, organised by Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Nangka branch, were to ensure that most of the beneficiaries received their food baskets at home instead of having to travel to the Sibu Islamic Welfare Trust Board (Lakis) — the distribution centre — to collect the goods.

Nangka assemblyman Dr Annuar Rapaee said 90 riders had been tasked with sending the food basket to the recipients as it was not a good idea to have too many people crowding at Lakis.

He added that there were over 3, 000 recipients in his constituency who were eligible for the RM70 food basket each.

While many of them had the food delivered to their home, there were some who still had to collect them at the distribution centre.

Dr Annuar said those in need but whose names did not appear in the food list were advised to contact the party’s branches in Bawang Assan, Dudong, Bukit Assek, Nangka and Pelawan.
