Serious attention needed to deal with falling trees

PETALING JAYA: Local councils must pay closer attention to the maintenance of trees under their jurisdiction as it concerns public safety, says the Institute of Landscape Architects Malaysia (ILAM).

This call follows the recent uprooting of a giant tree at Jalan Travers where a motorcyclist was reportedly injured and a car crushed under the fallen branches. No lives were lost but road users from Bangsar towards the city centre were caught in a frustrating traffic standstill.
