Gawai celebration in state limited to one day

GAWAI festival, which falls on June 1, can be celebrated by the Dayak community in Sarawak this year for one day only.

In a statement released on the standard operating procedure for the harvest festival, the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said the celebration was limited to family members of the same household for individual houses or a room in longhouses to gather.
