SUBANG JAYA: The Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) headquarters will remain closed to the public following Covid-19 cases being detected among employees, and only reopen for selected services on Thursday (May 6).
This is to allow for infection detection, contact tracing and thorough disinfection works of the entire building located at USJ 5 here.
“Between April 22 and May 3, a total of 33 MBSJ employees tested positive for Covid-19, compared to 11 cases reported in the previous media statement, ” said MBSJ in a notice issued on Tuesday (May 4) on behalf of Subang Jaya mayor Noraini Roslan.
“All close contacts have been directed to undergo Covid-19 testing and self-quarantine, in accordance with procedures set by the Health Ministry.”
With reference to its previous media statement, the council clarified that only the service counters located at its office lobby would be closed until May 14.
“The service counters at other departments remain operational. Members of the public can contact and deal directly with the relevant department when MBSJ’s headquarters has reopened, ” said MBSJ.
The list of services and departments available from Thursday are as follows:
Property Management and Assessment Department: Property transfer of ownership process (Form I), transfer of ownership due to death (Form J), change of address or correction in name spelling for assessment tax billing;
Licensing Department: Applications for business licence and advertisement, temporary business permit, entertainment licence, temporary entertainment permit, chair and table permit, sidewalk permit, return of security deposit;
Treasury Department: Residence pass (house and apartment), disabled individual (OKU) pass;
Enforcement Department: Compound payment for towed vehicle, heavy vehicle, scrap vehicle, items involved in seizures;
Building Department: Related compound payment; and
Health Department: Submission for dog licence.
For services involving technical departments such as the Building Department and Town Planning Department One Stop Centre, customers are required make an appointment via www.mbsj.gov.my
“Customers and ratepayers are encouraged to use online services via MBSJ’s website or the kiosk machines at MBSJ’s office lobby to reduce physical contact, ” said MBSJ in its notice.
“We will provide updates on the latest situation on our social media platforms.”
