Taxi and bus drivers receive food baskets in Klang

FOOD baskets are being given to 617 taxi and school bus drivers in Klang to tide them over as their income has been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Selangor housing and urban well-being, entrepreneur development committee chairman Rodziah Ismail and Klang Municipal Council president Dr Ahmad Fadzli Ahmad Tajuddin gave out 50 food baskets to some of them during an event recently.

“The food baskets are being given out in stages, ” she said at Stadium Sultan Suleiman on Jalan Padang, Klang.

Rodziah added that the food essentials were being distributed to a total of 7,900 taxi and bus drivers in the state.

Ahmad Fadzli said the council acted as a facilitator to coordinate the distribution.

Taxi drivers Charanjit Singh, 65, Yakub Samsuddin, 63, and Mohd Noor Omar, 70, were among those who received the food baskets.
