‘Include high-protein items in food baskets’

WHILE basic necessities such as rice, noodles and biscuits can go a long way, food baskets should include high-protein canned food such as sardines and beans.

Kampung Telok Menegon, Klang District Senior Citizen Activity Centre (Pawe) chairman Hassan Musa, in making the call, said recipients need food that would contribute to their well-being.

“I believe that some are unable to buy certain canned food items due to the high price, ” he said after giving out food baskets to 25 senior citizens aged 70 to 95, with the assistance of Klang District Social Welfare Department (JKM).

Hassan said he would give his input to have nutritious food included in the baskets.
