Tantalising spread with ‘Buy 6 Free 1’ group deal

THE authentic Malay delicacies laid out at Hotel Royal Penang’s Grove Brasserie will bring one homely comforts after a long day of fasting.

With over 100 items, the Selera Ramadan Buffet Dinner whipped up by executive sous chef Rozairy Roslan and his team, is among the most enticing in town.

Available from 7pm to 9.30pm daily until May 11, it is priced at RM78 for adults, RM65 for seniors above 55 and RM38 for children aged six to 12.

There is also a Buy 6 Free 1 group deal for adults, so invite your extended family members, co-workers or friends if you are short on numbers.

“We have all the crowd favourites from previous years. Regulars love them, ” said Chef Rozairy, pointing to examples like the signature kambing golek.

Marinated in a mouth-watering blend of spices then slow-roasted, its succulent and juicy meat goes well with the black pepper and mint sauces.

Before that, help yourself to starters like kerabu perut lembu, kerabu taugeh kerang, nasi ulam, pasembor, aneka jeruk or ulam with several classic sambals.

If that does not bring back fond memories of the kampung, then mains like gulai perut lembu, daging masak kerutup, sambal udang petai and ayam percik surely will.

Ikan senangin masak lemak belimbing buluh, oxtail masak merah, nasi briyani

dengan dalca kambing are some of the other lip-smacking treats that keep regulars returning year after year.

Also available are bubur lambuk, sup ayam, daging or kambing, nasi Arab, mee udang, mee kari royal, kebab ayam, chicken and beef satay, as well as ikan bakar.

Chef Rozairy, more popularly known as Herry, also said of the halal-certified buffet: “We have six menus on rotation, with slight variations in cooking styles each day.”

Finish on a sweet note with desserts that include traditional malay kuih, pengat pisang, ais kacang, French pastries and assorted puddings, jellies and fruits.

The hotel also offers Ramadan Staycation Packages from RM250 per night, which includes breakfast or sahur for two, as well as the dinner buffet for two.
