LULU Group, one of the largest retail operators in the Middle East and North Africa, has further consolidated its presence in Malaysia with the opening of its third hypermarket in Setia Alam, Selangor.
The new outlet is located at the new phase of Setia City Mall, which is the group’s 207th store globally.
The 150,000 sq ft retail space covers three floors, with the lower ground floor housing a supermarket, fresh food, bakery, as well as sections for health, beauty and household items.
Other floors offer the latest trends by Lulu fashion store for women, children and men.
Customers can also find the latest electrical and electronic items, smartphones and IT products.
A major highlight of the newly opened store is its imported line of gluten-free, organic, sugar-free, additive-free and preservative-free food as well as other speciality foods from around the world.
Setia Alam has a growing population and is currently one of the most sought-after property locations in the Klang Valley.
Yusuff Ali MA, who is Abu Dhabi-based Lulu Group chairman and managing director, said over the years of catering to different nationalities, they have seen a growing demand for internationally sourced products.
“This is why it will be our continuous commitment to offer high- quality products at the most affordable prices in the market, ” he assured.
Yusuff also said that despite the challenges posed by Covid-19, it was the duty of all business organisations to continue their expansion plans and growth activities.
“This will help the economy recover faster, in order for us to get back to our normal life sooner.
“We are firm in our expansion plans in Malaysia and are committed to launching five new hypermarkets in different parts of the country before the end of 2022, ” he added.
The other locations for Lulu hypermarkets are Kuala Lumpur, Subang Jaya and Johor Baru.
Lulu Malaysia currently employs more than 400 Malaysians in its three hypermarkets in the country.
The group has a total of 207 hypermarkets across the Middle East, Egypt, Indonesia and Malaysia, with operations in more than 15 countries worldwide.
Lulu Hypermarket Setia Alam is offering attractive discounts and exciting activities in conjunction with its opening.
One of them is the “Lulu Token Of Love” promotion, where the first 1,000 customers with a minimum purchase of RM50 in a single receipt from the new store will receive a surprise gift.
The promotion is limited to one gift per customer and while stocks last.
The hypermarket’s soft opening was held on March 31, with only a handful of Lulu Group’s and SP Setia Group’s top management present in keeping with the Covid-19 standard operating procedure.
Lulu Hypermarket Setia Alam is open from 10am to 10pm daily.
