Taman Eng Ann morning market traders, customers given face shields

Ahmad Fadzli handing over the components for a face shield to a trader at Taman Eng Ann morning market in Klang.

KLANG Municipal Council (MPK) president Dr Ahmad Fadzli Ahmad Tajuddin gave out some 300 face shields to traders and customers at the Taman Eng Ann morning market in Lorong Kasawari, Klang.

“Sri Kota Specialist Medical Centre (SKSMC) sponsored the equipment, ” he said.

SKSMC director Tan Suet Guan noted that face shields gave wearers greater protection.

“They are also reusable, ” she said.

SKSMC chairman Dr Nick Low said face shields were effective in curbing the spread of Covid-19 as they extended below the chin and above the forehead as well as covered the ears.

“We see many people pulling down their face masks while speaking but this does not happen with face shields.

“People are comfortable wearing them and can see each other’s facial expressions that allow for better understanding during a conversation, ” he added.

MPK councillor Low Kwee Sia, who oversees Taman Eng Ann, said customers and traders were grateful for the added protection.
