PUTRAJAYA Corporation (PjC) received the Green Neighbourhood Award 2020 (local authorities category) from Plan Malaysia for its 25km pedestrian and bicycle lane in the administrative capital’s Precinct 8.

In a statement, PjC corporate communications director Tengku Aina Tengku Ismail Shah said the winning entry was a well-planned alignment complete with special traffic lights for the bicycle lane, tactile blocks for the disabled, and safety features such as panic buttons as well as closed-circuit television cameras.

“A new innovation introduced to this lane was a bicycle ramp on the Seri Wawasan bridge, ” she said.
