Bank promotes national language through poetry competition

SME Bank, in collaboration with Malay Language and Culture Society of Manchester along with Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka, is organising an online poetry competition in short video form, “Tinta Sutradara”, with the objective of advocating for the national language.

SME Bank group president and chief executive officer Aria Putera Ismail said, “SME Bank fully supports the government initiative in empowering Bahasa Melayu and this initiative is one of the ways to foster patriotism in Malaysian society around the world.”

The ongoing competition will be held until April 6 and it is open to Malaysian citizens aged 18 and above.

Participation in this competition is free but participants are required to upload a video of one to three-minute length on Facebook and/or Instagram with suitable pantun/puisi/sajak/syair/gurindam/seloka in Bahasa Melayu depicting the theme “Keusahawanan Nadi Ekonomi Negara”.

Ten winners stand a chance of winning prizes such as iPhone and iPad.
