Campaign in aid of homes lacking funds

THE Asean Retail-Chains and Franchise Federation (ARFF) and SME Association of Malaysia have launched a “Pandemic CSR fundraising campaign” in aid of old folks homes, orphanages, assisted living facilities for the disabled, shelter homes and NGOs facing a critical shortage of funds due to the movement control order.

The campaign aims to raise RM300,000 or more to help these facilities and centres which are on the brink of closing.

“These welfare centres are affected because donors cannot reach them during MCO 2.0.

“That is why we came up with this campaign with Datuk Michael Kang (SME Association of Malaysia national president).

“I wish to invite entrepreneurs and all Malaysians to come together to help during these critical times, ” said ARFF president Datuk Mike Loh.

The associations have approached the Women, Family, and Community Development Ministry to get its support for the campaign and are awaiting its response.

Several welfare centres received funds from the campaign during Chinese New Year.

To donate, WhatsApp 017-669 7231 (SME Malaysia) or 016-207 7802 (ARFF).
