Limited-edition stamp collection to welcome Year of the Ox

Pos Malaysia has launched its first festive Setem Ku collection for 2021 in conjunction with Chinese New Year, which marks the Year of the Ox.

As the second animal in the Chinese Zodiac, the ox is known for its strength, determination, diligence and dependability.

These characteristics inspired Pos Malaysia to feature the theme “Be Brave. Be Bold. Be Oxsome. In the Year of the Ox”.

There are 10 stamps featuring the ox in a simplified, polygonal art form, accompanied with Chinese calligraphy of the word ‘ox’.

Pos Malaysia Bhd channel management and customer experience group head Azmil Othman Merican said the new stamp collection marked the second of a new cycle for Pos Malaysia’s zodiac stamp series.

“The limited-edition Year of the Ox stamp collection is one of a kind.

“It is our sincere hope that the Year of the Ox will bring everyone prosperity, peace, luck and much joy, ” he added.

In addition to the use of traditional red background on stamps, there are also modern coloured backgrounds in pink, turquoise and orange, giving the overall stamp sheet a vibrant look while highlighting the distinct design features of the stamps.

Each stamp is decorated with a Chinese decorative border alongside a festive message such as “Be Oxsome” and “Stay Oxsome”.

“The stamp collection will serve as a symbolic and meaningful gift to family and friends during Chinese New Year as we celebrate the festive season under the new normal, ” Azmil said.

Pos Malaysia is producing 2,000 pieces of folder sets and 200 Setem Ku stamp sheets for this collection, priced at RM38 and RM25 respectively.

To collect the complete set, customers are encouraged to purchase the folder set, which consists of one stamp sheet, three pieces of souvenir covers, three pieces of postcards and a folder.

The Setem Ku collection is available on Pos Malaysia’s e-commerce website at www.pos.com.my/shop and at 13 General Post Offices nationwide.
