Apart but together at heart


Featuring a star-studded cast of Malaysian personalities, Watsons Malaysia’s recently released #HappyBeautifulYear 2021 film reminds everyone of unity, love and nostalgia.

CHINESE New Year is always a significant celebration of love and bonding.

And with the continuous battle against Covid-19, the new year is looking to be a quiet one for all of us.

But this does not spell the end of celebrations, for despite being apart, we are together at heart.

Entering the Year of the Ox with renewed hope and aspirations, Watsons Malaysia released its most anticipated Chinese New Year film with the key message of togetherness and family bonding.

Featuring a star-studded cast of Malaysian personalities, Watsons Malaysia’s #HappyBeautifulYear 2021 campaign reminds everyone of unity, love and nostalgia.

“We take this as our responsibility to encourage fellow Malaysians, especially our members and customers, that even during this challenging time, we should be fostering the spirit of togetherness, ” said Watsons Malaysia managing director Caryn Loh.

“We should not neglect anyone and continuously promote love and unity in our community.”

The film revolves around families and friends giving support to help a famous singing duo reconcile over a misunderstanding in the past.

The story is told through a musical, full of dazzling drama and catchy songs that are a blend of the ‘90s, K-pop and Chinese musical instruments.

The lyrics also cleverly incorporate the message of the campaign.

“The film reflects how Watsons is continuously relevant to our customers and members, ” said Watsons Malaysia customer director Danny Hoh.

“With this campaign, the brand representation featuring Watsons celebrity friends, including SummerGrace Sisters, Ang Chee Chiang, Danny Ahboy, HanXiiaAii, Soimjenn, Lizz Chloe and Amber Chia, makes this message even more relatable for all, ” he added.

The film also features cameo appearances from Watsons ambassadors Jinnyboy and Ayda Jebat and since its release on Watsons Malaysia YouTube channel, it has garnered over five million views.

Watsons Malaysia has also produced two TV commercials and six product videos that highlight amazing deals during the Chinese New Year, including prizes worth RM2,888,888 for members.
