THERE is a major reshuffle in the Johor government following the retirement and promotion of several civil servants.
Leading the list is former Iskandar Puteri City Council (MBIP) mayor Datuk Salehuddin Hassan, who has been sworn in as the new Johor Finance Officer.
He replaced Datuk Abdul Rahim Nin, who retired after serving in the position for more than three years.
In a statement, Johor State Secretary Datuk Azmi Rohani said Datuk Mohd Haffiz Ahmad, who was previously the Muar district officer, had been appointed as the new MBIP mayor.
“The post of Muar district officer will be filled by Mustaffa Kamal Shamsudin, who is now the Muar Municipal Council president.
“Former Pontian district officer Zulkifly Mohd Tahir has been appointed Johor Islamic Religious Council new chief executive officer while Batu Pahat district officer Zulkiflee Abbas has been transferred to Johor Special Water as executive director, ” he added.
Azmi also said Kota Tinggi district officer Farizal Ismail was now the Dato’ Onn Institute director while former Kluang district officer Ismail Abu is the new Batu Pahat district officer.
He added that the Kluang district officer position would be filled by Jamaludin A. Hamid while Mohd Rafi Abdullah will be the new Pontian district officer.
“This reshuffle also involves a large number of women administrative officers, namely 12, with six of them appointed to key positions.
“This reshuffle is also historic as for the second time, a district in Johor will be led by a woman district officer since 1990, ” he said.
Azmi added that former Pengerang Municipal Council president Hazlina
Jalil was appointed Kota Tinggi district officer.
“Former Johor Executive Council secretary Shubanah Yusuf is the Johor state deputy secretary (surveillance and people’s well-being) while her replacement is Nor Azleena Abdul Rahman, ” he said.
