Mounds of essential items and food packed in bags to be distributed to low-income families at PPRs in the Bandar Baru Klang constituency.
SOME 950 families in people’s housing projects (PPR) in the Bandar Baru Klang constituency were given food baskets to help tide them over amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
Klang Municipal Council (MPK) councillor Dr Quah Perng Fei said Bandar Baru Klang assemblyman Datuk Teng Chang Khim provided the allocation for the food baskets.
“MPK councillors Francis Gan, Low Kwee Sia and I coordinated the efforts with the PPR joint management bodies and residents to give out food baskets to those who deserve it.
“The food baskets were distributed to reduce the impact of the movement control order on the B40 group, ” he said.
Quah said the food baskets consisting of 5kg rice bag, 1kg wheat flour, cooking oil, noodles, sardine cans, sugar and a packet of biscuits had been distributed to those living in PPR Rebana in Bandar Bukit Raja, and PPR Dahlia, Mawar and Cempaka in Bandar Baru Klang.
“On Jan 24, another 1,060 food baskets will be given out to the B40 group at Dewan Teluk Pulai, Sekolah Agama, Batu Belah and PPR Bukit Kuda, ” he said.
