THE JCI Century Association has contributed daily necessities worth RM5,500 to flood victims in Kota Tinggi, Johor.
JCI Century organising chairman Aron Ong Jia Yi said the association had set up a special “Century Rescue Team” to donate cleaning tools and products to the victims.
“We mobilised the team immediately after the first downpour to assist them in the clean-up.
“The initial plan was to help with the clean-up, but then the rainfall continued so we decided to give the victims daily necessities, ” he explained.
Among other things, the association contributed 15 mattresses, 30 pillows, 15 blankets, 50 boxes of face mask, 40 bags of rice, 10 cartons of biscuit, 20 cartons of milk, 10 cartons of detergent, two cartons of sanitary pads and 16 packs of diapers.
“We wish to thank JCI Austin Perdana and JCI Lead Tropicana for supporting our efforts to provide the assistance within two days.
“We had also received messages from flood victims via social media, prompting the team to reach out to them, ” Ong said, adding that JCI Century planned to organise more programmes to help communities in need.
