State awards ceremony in February

PENANG’S state awards presentation ceremony has been postponed to Feb 6 and 7.

State Speaker Datuk Law Choo Kiang said the investiture ceremony for 2020 initially planned to begin on Jan 16 had been deferred.

“This is due to the Covid-19 situation and we have allocated two days for the Darjah Kebesaran, Bintang and Pingat Kehormatan award ceremonies which will be held on Feb 6 and 7 at Dewan Sri Pinang, ” said Law in a statement.

The ceremony for the first two days will involve 51 and 63 recipients respectively.

“Recipients of the other awards may collect theirs at the same venue from 8.30am to 5pm on Feb 8,9, 10 and 11, ” he said.
